Dash of Spring

Each year as the winter begins to subside we look forward to the arrival of the colorful spring flowers. After a very long cold season these fresh and vibrant blooms are welcoming to the senses.
I was out on my front porch one spring afternoon, pruning and watering the florets and as the petals dropped to the ground and the water began to seep from the flower pots, I turned around to find a picturesque image.
This experience changed the way I see art and it’s many forms. I wasn’t trying to create anything-it just happened on it’s own and yet it is one of my most loved pieces in terms of my photography.
No filters, no digital enhancements…just the magical timing of nature.
Everything about it I appreciate-the movement of the image as a whole with all of the mixed elements of water and hue blend together to create something really easy and tranquil.
